Summary (Courtesy of Moviefone):
I was drawn to this film by the many beautiful people in the cast. And with a setting like Venice for them to run around, who needs a storyline? Luckily, the movie does have an actual plot. I am curious to see what happens to Frank and Elise in their adventures. I mainly want to know if Frank is actually Alexander Pierce, the man Elise is supposed to be meeting. The general consensus of the rest of my household is that they want to see it so they can see people shooting at Johnny Depp. I admit, it does sound fun.Johnny Depp stars as an American tourist whose playful dalliance with a stranger leads to a web of intrigue, romance and danger in 'The Tourist'. During an impromptu trip to Europe to mend a broken heart, Frank (Depp) unexpectedly finds himself in a flirtatious encounter with Elise (Angelina Jolie), an extraordinary woman who deliberately crosses his path. Against the breathtaking backdrop of Paris and Venice, their whirlwind romance quickly evolves as they find themselves unwittingly thrust into a deadly game of cat and mouse.
This movie has action, intrigue, and romance, but its the stunning cinematography propels the film. The cast is full of familiar people, including Timothy Dalton and Rufus Sewell. The critics find The Tourist to be a bit muddled but the fans of Depp and Jolie recommend the film.
